MTB skills coaching in Benoni and Pretoria
Mountain biking is a skill sport. Our weekly sessions teach kids and adults the techniques that make riding safer, faster and a lot more fun, one skill at a time.
What you learn
Body position and balance
The "ready position", looking ahead and staying loose on the bike, the base for every other skill.
Braking and speed control
Using both brakes smoothly, braking before corners and stopping safely on loose ground.
Cornering and berms
Picking a line, leaning the bike and carrying speed through flat corners and berms.
Climbing and gearing
Choosing the right gear early, seated and standing climbing, and getting over steep pinches.
Descending and drops
Weight back, eyes up and soft arms on steep, rough descents and small drops.
Rock gardens and obstacles
Lifting the front wheel, rolling over rocks and roots and riding technical sections with confidence.

How a session runs
- Warm-up ride to get the legs going and check bikes and helmets.
- Skill of the day, demonstrated by the coach and broken into small steps.
- Practice drills with feedback for every rider, matched to their level.
- Put it together on a section of the track or a short game or race.
Progress you can see
Every term, each rider gets a progress report that rates eight skills from 1 to 5, with notes on what's going well and what we'll work on next. You get it as a link on WhatsApp or email.
Skills coaching FAQ
I have never ridden off-road. Is that okay?
Yes. Beginners start in a group that works on balance, body position and braking on easy ground before moving to slopes, corners and obstacles.
How big are the groups?
We keep groups small so the coach can watch every rider and give each one feedback during the session.
Do you offer private MTB lessons?
Yes, one-on-one or small private lessons can be arranged for riders who want extra time on a specific skill. Send us a WhatsApp to book.
Is it only for kids?
No. We coach kids, juniors and adults. Riders are grouped by age and ability, and adults can also book private skills lessons.
